Common questions
General questions about who we are, how to get a quote, how to track a shipment and where a first-time importer starts. Questions tied to one mode — rates, documents, clearance — are answered on the service pages themselves.
What does PNM Egypt do?
PNM Egypt is the freight forwarding, customs and international trade arm of PNM Group. We book and document sea, air and land freight in and out of Egypt, consolidate LCL cargo, clear shipments through Egyptian customs under our own licences, run courier traffic through Aramex and FedEx, and manage cross-trade shipments that never touch Egyptian soil — with one accountable desk on the file from booking to final delivery.
How do I get a quote, and how quickly do you reply?
Send the lane, the cargo and your target dates through the quote form — the more detail you give, the sharper the number comes back. Our operations desk replies within one business day with routing options, transit times and an itemised rate. If it is easier to talk it through first, the desk answers all week, around the clock.
Which service line do I need?
Ten lines cover the map: sea freight for full containers, LCL consolidation for part loads, air freight when the deadline decides, land freight for the regional corridors, trucking and customs clearance inside Egypt, courier for documents and parcels, import and export licensing when your registration is not ready, network memberships to cover the far end of the lane, cross shipping between third countries, and moving and relocation for homes and offices in Cairo. Tell us the cargo and the lane and we will route you — you do not have to pick correctly first.
How do I track my shipment?
Online tracking for PNM Egypt is still being connected. Until it goes live, the operations desk tracks every shipment personally: send us your PNM Egypt booking reference, bill of lading or air waybill number and we reply with the current status and the milestones ahead.
Where is your office, and when can I reach you?
Our head office is in Heliopolis, Cairo — 68 El-Mirghani St., El-Montaza, next to the Mobil petrol station. Cargo does not keep office hours and neither does the desk: phone and email are answered all week, 24/7. The contact page carries the map, the direct line and the email address.
Do you only work with large importers?
No. Our files run from a single courier envelope to full container programmes: SMEs importing one to twelve cubic metres, factories waiting on a machine spare, exporters testing a market with a trial order, e-commerce sellers shipping from Egypt, and trading companies that want one accountable partner from the supplier's gate to the final warehouse. A small shipment gets the same file discipline as a large one.
Do you move homes and offices, or only commercial cargo?
Both — packing and moving is the trade the group was founded on in Kuwait in 2003, and our moving and relocation line carries it in Cairo: survey, packing, dismantle and reassembly, transport, storage, and international shipping of household effects through our own freight desks. Homes, offices and corporate relocations each get the same itemised inventory discipline we apply to containers.
I have never imported into Egypt before. Where do I start?
Start with eligibility, not with the shipment. Commercial imports for resale need registration on the Importers' Register, while factories importing their own production inputs fall under different provisions. If your registration is not in place yet, the goods can still move legally under our licences with PNM Egypt acting as importer of record. Once that is settled the sequence is ours to run: ACID registration on Nafeza before your supplier ships, then the customs file, then delivery.
Can you clear cargo I booked with another forwarder?
Yes. Clearance is a standalone service as well as part of our own freight files: we pick the file up at the Egyptian port or airport, lodge the declaration, settle duties, attend the inspection and deliver with our own trucking desk. Send the documents and the arrival details and we will tell you what the file needs before the vessel or aircraft lands.
Can you handle a shipment that never enters Egypt?
Yes — that is what our cross shipping desk is for. Goods move from the origin country straight to the buyer's country while the file is run from Cairo: bookings, switch bills of lading, neutral documentation and vetted network agents at both ends, so your supplier and your buyer never have to meet.
How is PNM Egypt related to PNM Group?
PNM Egypt is one of the eight companies of PNM Group — founded in Kuwait in 2003 and working across three countries: Pack 'N' Move (Kuwait), PNM Egypt (Cairo), PNM Agency (Cairo), PNM UK (London), PNM Solutions (Cairo), PNM Real Estate (Kuwait), PNM Express (Kuwait) and Matgarak. In practice, Egypt inherits the group's carrier leverage, two decades of agent relationships and the same standard of trust, applied to cargo moving in and out of Egypt.
